Wallpaper removal is unpredictable: some comes away in sheets, and some has been hung straight onto unprimed drywall and takes the paper face of the board with it. We price the removal and the wall repair that follows as one job so there is no surprise halfway through.
After the paper and adhesive are off, the walls are washed down, any damaged paper face is sealed, and the surface is skim-coated and sanded where it needs it.
A sealing primer goes on before paint so that old adhesive residue cannot bleed through the finish.

Questions about wallpaper removal
Can you just paint over the wallpaper?
Occasionally, when the paper is well stuck, flat and in sound condition. More often it eventually telegraphs the seams or lifts, so we will only recommend it when it is genuinely the better option for that wall.
What if the drywall is damaged underneath?
It often is, and we expect it. The repair is part of the quote: the damaged face is sealed, skimmed and sanded before priming.
